This yarn is produced by Mountain Meadow, a small mill in Wyoming. They buy fleece from local ranchers who have about 95% Rambouillet sheep, though occasionally a Targhee slips into the mix. These wools have merino-grade fineness, and create an amazingly springy yarn. They process fiber sustainably, using citrus-based soaps and mechanical methods to clean and prepare the fibers. Since they do not use a carbonization process in which the wool is immersed in enzymes that dissolve vegetable matter, you may occasionally find a small piece of grass in the yarn.
This is the bounciest yarn I've ever worked with, it's very fun to knit! It will make excellent fitted garments as well as snug hats and socks that don't droop.
