It is normal for indigo-dyed yarns to crock (blue rubs off on your hands) when you work with them, and it is easily washed off with soap and water. Overall color will not be affected, and finished projects will typically not crock. More information here.
This yarn is produced by Mountain Meadow, a small mill in Wyoming. They buy fleece from local ranchers who have about 95% Rambouillet sheep, though occasionally a Targhee slips into the mix. These wools have merino-grade fineness, and create an amazingly springy yarn. They process fiber sustainably, using citrus-based soaps and mechanical methods to clean and prepare the fibers. Since they do not use a carbonization process in which the wool is immersed in enzymes that dissolve vegetable matter, you may occasionally find a small piece of grass in the yarn.
This is the super-bouncy yarn, great when you want elasticity! A good weight for hats, sweaters, and snuggly cowls.
